I'm not sure where my cat has gone, but I get the feeling it doesn't bode well for the safety of the ankles in this house.

I always strangely look forward to the summer holidays, and I can't help the creeping sense of relief as they approach. I never anticipated summers when I was a student, but I dare say it's much more strenuous to work in the school. It's certainly more tiring and frustrating.

Finally it's beginning to warm up a bit. Can't say I enjoy the wind, though, it's almost worse than snow.

Public Service Announcement: I am back at my station as Headmaster of Hogwarts Castle. Things will be back to normal here within the week. I also have my own wand, once more, so feel free to contact me privately if you so choose, I will be able to charm things to my liking in response.

For all intents and purposes, I am functioning once more as I was before this whole endeavour, and those who feel the need to contact me may do so without the worry of any interference.

It seems that some people believe the Dark Lord's orders are secondary to their pride. I can think of no other reason they would continue the same actions over and over again in hopes that the results will change, when it's clear they will not. I suppose they believe only the flashiest means are worthwhile? Because anything subtle wouldn't be worth it, as no one would bow down before their fearsomeness. As far as anyone has seen, they've continued with a single means that is obviously not working. Perhaps trying something different would achieve different results. But it seems those boastful individuals are too proud to admit their first idea didn't work. But who knows, perhaps their reputation matters to the Dark Lord Himself.



(added later) Although it is amusing to watch Lupin's brats fall apart and have public tantrums rather than do anything constructive or useful. It's almost a joke how incapable they are of... well, anything. I'm amazed they managed the wards on my rooms at all.

I will thank my colleagues not to damage my property in my absence.

As a side-note, I likely will be unable to read any replies said colleagues might give to this post, but I expect not to find any property of mine -- living or otherwise -- damaged upon my return.
